Dawn has performed and been Musical and Vocal Director for many tradional theatrical stage productions including Godspell, Good Vibrations, Pippin, Grease, Joseph, Jesus Christ Superstar, Annie, Annie Get Your Gun, Smike, Irma La Douce, Chess, Fiddler on the Roof, Hair, The Wiz, West Side Story, The Boyfriend and Elvis, to name a few; more recently directing Cliff, Five Guys Named Moe, Concert Fever with Joseph Clark, The Legend of Eagles and Air Guitar.
She also performed in part of the 2007 Durban leg of the international production of ‘We will Rock You’/ staged at the Playhouse Theatre, Durban.
Dawn performs and has been Musical/Vocal Director for various productions over the past three years at the Heritage Theatre, Hillcrest, including ‘Jonny B. Goode’, ‘Coming of Age’, two successful runs of ‘The Jazz Singer’and ‘A Taste of Thomson’. Dawn was recently nominated for Best Musical Director by the Durban Theatre Awards 2006 for the shows: ‘Motown Magic’, ‘The Jazz Singer’ and ‘Winnie the Pooh’. The most recent production at the Heritage Theatre was ‘Long Train Running’ which featured the band and John Ellis from Tree 63.
She has also performed at the Barnyard Theatres in Durban and Cape Town, as Musical Director in the Duck Chowles productions of ‘Glory Days’, ‘Yesterday’, ‘Sixties Revolution’, the recently voted most popular show at the Durban Barnyard, ‘G String’ and ‘Boogie Wonderland’, ‘Walking in Memphis’ and ‘Harvest Moon’.
Dawn was recently nominated for Best Musical Director by the Durban Theatre Awards 2006 for the shows: ‘Motown Magic’, ‘The Jazz Singer’ and ‘Winnie the Pooh’.
